Riding a bike is great exercise but also dangerous on busy roads. Ryan Seacrest, who started cycling a couple weeks ago, learned that first hand when a car sideswiped him and caused him to crash.

He ended up with some bruises and bangs but is otherwise okay.

Seacrest told his story on his morning show today (watch the video below.)

"Be careful, crazy drivers," his mom Connie warned him. His sister Meredith is engaged, which is why Connie was in Los Angeles from Atlanta.

Seacrest, of course, told his mom not to worry about it, noting there are bike lanes and paths.

I'm sure Connie is now saying, "I told you so."

Seacrest said he was on San Vicente Blvd., which has a bike lane. The car, which didn't see him, pushes him into the curb and another cyclist hit him. "I eat asphalt," he said.

They driver, a young woman about 20, eventually came over and saw him lying there, hurt. "I didn't see you," she said with an accusatory tone.

"She had this attitude," he said. "I get the bike and fix the brakes. The girl now talking to her boyfriend. I was a little bit ticked. I said, 'You really need t pay attention while driving.' "

Her boyfriend turned to him and sarcastically, "She heard you the first time."

Seacrest said he was so angry, part of him thought this could turn physical - but not really. He kept his bike helmet on so he doubts they recognized him.

"I was taken aback by the lack of compassion by someone who nearly runs you over - like it was my fault... She had zero heart."

"Todrick," the series, follows him and his friends as they film the videos that eventually go viral on the popular platform. Vonzell Solomon from season four is part of his YouTube team.

The show debuts at 10 p.m. Monday night along with "Awkward" and "Faking It."

This trailer video even features Katie singing:

Kelly Clarkson was in her hometown of Dallas last night but surprisingly did not sing a cool cover tune as she has done on almost every stop of this tour. She will be in Atlanta at Lakewood Amphitheatre Sept. 10.

Here is her cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" while in Albuquerque last Thursday night.

Speaking of covers, Pia Toscano covers Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down." Pia finished ninth season ten. I wasn't a huge fan of hers four years ago but she does a good job with this one. And no squatting! (An inside joke for the regulars there...)

Here is Carrie Underwood's "Smoke Break" video in full though I don't think she actually smokes at all in it:
