Aiken is the king of being runner up, having come in second on 'American Idol" and "Celebrity Apprentice."

This was widely expected in a heavily Republican district. He could not parlay his celebrity into enough votes, though he did get plenty of national press.

But the run will not be totally forgotten. Esquire shot a docuseries about his run that will air early next year.

"Ultimately, this series is a raw and honest look at American politics through an incredibly unique and compelling candidate," said Esquire Network head of original programming Matt Hanna. "The opportunity to work with amazing documentarians Simon and Jonathan Chinn, gave Esquire Network the perfect opportunity to explore politics and its intersection with celebrity."

And just to show where "American Idol" winner Caleb Johnson is at, the next featured gig I could find on the Web is grand marshal at a parade in Asheville, N.C. on Nov. 22.

In other words, they aren't exactly getting the hottest jobs out there.
