More than 146,000 Georgians have already cast ballots in the 2016 election after just one day of early in-person voting.
The total includes more than 61,000 absentee ballots cast by mail and more than 85,000 ballots cast in person, according to Secretary of State Brian Kemp’s office.
In 2012, more than 1.9 million ballots were cast ahead of the actual Election Day.
Michael McDonald, a University of Florida professor who studies election data, said that 64 percent of this year's early Georgia ballots were cast by white voters, 27 percent by black voters.
