Many, many bills on both calendars. Among them: The House will take up HB 923, which would move the child fatality review panel under the GBI and, more importantly, eliminate a 2009 amendment that gave DFCS ability to redact information about children who die who had DFCS contact.
In House committees, this could be a make-or-break day for HB 885 sponsored by state Rep. Allen Peake, R-Macon, which would legalize medicinal marijuana. While it has widespread support, the bill has yet to clear the Health and Human Services Committee.
Chairman Sharon Cooper, R-Marietta, has set a meeting for 3 p.m. today, but as of 8 a.m. had published no agenda.
The Senate will vote on a bill that would set DeKalb county school districts – just in time for the start of qualifying Monday.
At 8:15, the governor will kick off a water summit hosted by the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
