The gravitational pull was too great. Today's edition of GPB's "Political Rewind" had to focus on tonight's Georgia-Alabama game, and the reception that President Donald Trump might get.

ESPN reports that tickets to the game are among the most expensive in college football victory:

The average ticket sold on the most frequented resale sites is up over $2,300 ($2,319 on StubHub, $2,413 on Vivid Seats).

The consensus: A high-dollar crowd isn’t likely to be terribly rude to the president. But maybe some noise will come from the student section.

We had the opening gavel of the Legislature this morning as well -- and eventually, we got around to some interesting historical maneuvering around Stone Mountain.

If you couldn’t catch it live, click below to listen now:

Today’s panelists: Host Bill Nigut; yours truly; Democratic consultant Tharon Johnson; and GOP strategist Heath Garrett.
