Steve Winwood will return to Atlanta next spring.

Last year, the venerable Rock and Roll Hall of Famer stayed busy on the road with Tom Petty and then Rod Stewart (that show played Philips Arena in October ).

But the onetime member of The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith will play a solo date at the Fox Theatre on May 1 as part of a quick spring tour.

Tickets for the show, priced at $35-$100, are on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 12. They can be purchased at the Fox box office, www.foxtheatre.org or by calling 855-285-8499.

Winwood’s distinctive organ playing has graced songs as diverse as Jimi’s Hendrix’s “Voodoo Chile” to Miranda Lambert’s recent hit “Baggage Claim.”
