Prince salute to air April 21, performances from Las Vegas available to stream

Prince Rogers Nelson was born in Minneapolis and was part of the 'Minneapolis Sound' in the 1990's: a mix of funk, rock, pop, and new wave synthesizers. A master of many instruments and a vessel of seemingly endless scores, Prince and his music constantly evolved.

Fans can now hear some of Prince’s early-2000s performances at The Aladdin in Las Vegas with the release of “Live at The Aladdin Las Vegas Sampler” to streaming platforms.

The four-song digital EP mirrors a physical promo record that Prince sent to radio stations in 2003 to promote the “Live at the Aladdin” DVD, which will be reissued as part of the five-CD “Up All Nite with Prince” recording on May 29.

The Vegas recording of “Pop Live,” “Gotta Broken Heart,” “Strange Relationship,” and “Sometimes it Snows in April” comes from a show on Dec. 15, 2002.
