The Atlanta Hawks will kick off their season Nov. 1 with a little help from a musical friend.

Atlanta’s T.I. will be present to introduce the Hawks players as well as perform with special guests before and after the game and during halftime.

The trio of performances will tag the hip-hop star/actor as the first major artist to perform three times during an NBA game (a distinction the savvy-minded T.I. likely relishes).

As an added incentive to attend opening night, all fans who enter Philips Arena before 7 p.m. will receive $10 in Hawks Bucks (arena concession money) and a T-shirt. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.

The Hawks will also a debut a new JBL sound system to improve audio clarity throughout the arena and a high-end 3D projection system for an enhanced visual experience (it is expected to be utilized with T.I.’s introduction of the players, which he will do with longtime PA announcer and V-103 personality Ryan Cameron).

“I think everybody needs to come out and make it their business to support the Hawks and support the city,” T.I. said in a statement. “I will be performing at the pregame show, the halftime and the postgame as well – all for the people who come to support my team, the Atlanta Hawks, and my city. We gotta set it off with a celebration.”

Ticket prices for the Hawks opener against the Indiana Pacers start at $10 and can be purchased via Ticketmaster
