A couple of “American Idol” alums and one of contemporary Christian music’s biggest acts will take part in the Great Tree Lighting ceremony at the Lenox Mall Macy’s this weekend.

Jordin Sparks, who released her latest album, “Right Here, Right Now,” this spring, will headline the event, which begins at 7 p.m. Nov. 22.

Joining her are fellow former “Idol” contestant Danny Gokey, who has shifted from country to Christian (his “Christmas is Here” arrived last month) and MercyMe, who unveiled a new Christmas album, “MercyMe, It’s Christmas!” this season.

The band will then head to New York to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

If you can’t make it to Buckhead this weekend, no worries – WSB will air the tree lighting ceremony live and replay it throughout the holiday weekend.
