Matthew Sweet will headline this year’s Tunes from the Tombs festival, the annual summer gathering at Oakland Cemetery.

The June 13 event will, for the first time in its five-year history, offer music from all local artists.

Sweet, a vital part of the Athens music scene in the ‘80s, leads a lineup that includes: Michelle Malone Band, Little Tybee, Eliot Bronson, Blair Crimmins and the Hookers, Sweet Auburn String Band, Caleb Warren and the Perfect Gentlemen, Blood On the Harp, Sourwood Honey, Max & Maggie, Atlanta Sacred Harp Singers and more.

Tunes from the Tombs will take place from 1-8 p.m. General admission tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Children ages 3-12 are $5 and children under age 3 are free.

Attendees can also purchase a $100 Rock in Peace (RIP, get it?) package that includes access to private restrooms, complimentary refreshments, two drink tickets and a gift pack with a commemorative T-shirt, limited edition poster and koozie.

Tickets are only available online at  www.ticketalternative.com .

All proceeds from the fest will benefit Historic Oakland Foundation’s preservation efforts for Oakland Cemetery.
