For the past several days, soul singer Jill Scott has taken to Twitter to staunchly defend Bill Cosby, which has caused many of her fans to question her thinking.

In a series of tweets, Scott pointed out that the Cosby allegations are precisely that and that his contributions to society and donations shouldn't be eradicated because of the women who have publicly claimed he sexually abused them decades ago.

On Wednesday, Cosby, who has remained relatively quiet about the allegations, thanked Scott on Twitter, as well as Whoopi Goldberg, who said she was withholding judgment during a discussion on "The View" a few weeks ago.

Scott's defense of Cosby has angered many of her fans, who see it as a betrayal of the strong-woman mindset she projects in her songs.
