A quartet of Georgia artists will compete this week at the Hard Rock Café Atlanta for a chance to perform during halftime at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

The acts are among those selected from more than 6,000 entrants worldwide and will perform a free, all ages concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the downtown outpost of the popular eatery/venue (and in the essence of full disclosure, my colleague Jewel Wicker and I will be judges at this round of the competition).

In addition to the major spotlight of a stadium performance, the winner will also receive a Fender prize package and a professionally produced music video that will be played in Hard Rock locations worldwide.

Here are the local acts competing in Hard Rock Rising: Battle of the Bands:

Bishop Lake – Founded in 2011 by singer/songwriter Zane (formerly of Halcyon Way), the hard rock-metal band has sharpened its chops with its live shows. The band has undergone a few lineup changes, but plans to release new material with the current crew. If you're a fan of Danzig, the Misfits or Ozzy Osbourne, time to tune in.
