[Congrats to randomly selected winner Sarah B.! And thanks to ALL of you who entered.]
The Avett Brothers haven't played the Fox Theatre for more than seven years, having outgrown the stately confines for the larger stages at Verizon Amphitheatre and the Shaky Knees Music Festival.
But the North Carolina band will return to the venue that Seth Avett called an "unparalleled spot" in a recent interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for three nights, June 8-10.
Aside from ticket demand, the band wanted to perform multiple shows to provide fans with diverse set lists.
“There’s the opportunity to really stretch. Even one evening will be 27 to 30 songs, but (with multiple nights) we can really just settle in, dig into the catalog, get fun and wild and not have it be an isolated pop-in, pop-out scenario,” he said.
If you'd like to witness The Avett Brothers' work live , you can purchase tickets ($39.50-$59.50) at www.foxtheatre.org, the venue box office or by calling 1-855-285-8499. The June 9-10 shows are essentially sold out, but tickets remain for June 8.
You’re also in luck because the kind folks at the venue have provided me with a pair of tickets to the 8 p.m. June 8 performance to give away.
To enter to win the free pair: Send an email to mruggieri@ajc.com by 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 6. Please put "Avett Brothers tickets" in the subject line or I won't see your email, and if I don't see your email, you will have zero chance of winning.
Please do not enter if you cannot attend the show, and please, only one entry per email address.
I will randomly select a winner and contact that person directly (as well as post it here).
While it's not required, I would appreciate a follow on Twitter and/or Facebook .
Good luck!
