Dolly Parton to be honored by Garth Brooks, Don Henley, Mavis Staples, Shawn Mendes and more at MusiCares event

The country titan is the 2019 Person of the Year

The list of musical luminaries who will pay tribute to Dolly Parton the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute keeps growing.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry join the already announced parade of artists including Don Henley, Norah Jones, Shawn Mendes, Vince Gill, Leon Bridges, Lauren Daigle, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Linda Perry, Pink, Mark Ronson, Mavis Staples and Chris Stapleton.

Parton will also perform at the close of the event and Greg Phillinganes will steer the night as musical director.

The annual MusiCares event will take place Feb. 8 in Los Angeles, as part of the usual run-up to the Grammy Awards (Feb. 10 at the Staples Center in downtown L.A.).

Parton is being recognized for her creative accomplishments as well as her longtime support of numerous charitable causes. Proceeds from the event – now in its 29th year – will benefit the MusiCares charity to aid those in the music industry in need of financial, medical and personal need.

Previous recipients include Tom Petty, Tony Bennett, Bono, Bonnie Raitt, Billy Joel, Elton John, Carole King and last year's honorees - Fleetwood Mac, who played what turned out to be their final show with Lindsey Buckingham.
