R&B star Chris Brown has come under fire for bailing on a scheduled appearance at an Atlanta Black Gay Pride event, but he says it was all a misunderstanding.

According to the GA Voice, Brown was set to introduce singer Teyana Taylor at an event Saturday night at the Georgia Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta promoted by Traxx Girls, a lesbian-owned entertainment company as "the biggest girl party in attendance." Brown had performed the night before at Aaron's Amphtiheatre at Lakewood as part of his One Hell of a Nite" tour, along with Taylor.

Event organizers said more than 4,000 people were left waiting for Brown after he pulled out of the appearance because he was allegedly upset that gay men would also be in attendance.

"You know it’s gay pride," party promoter Melissa Scott told GA Voice. "You knew you agreed when you sent the contract in and took the money." She said rapper Fetty Wap stepped in to fill Brown's shoes at the last minute.

Brown responded to the blowback on Twitter on Sunday:
