Chance the Rapper announces 2017 tour that will play Atlanta

After regaling Grammy Awards viewers on Sunday with a robust performance and taking home his first three career trophies , Chance the Rapper is announcing a summer tour.

The 23-year-old Chicago rapper, who made Grammy history by becoming the first act to be nominated – and win – based on a streaming-only release (“Coloring Book”), will launch a tour April 24 in California.

He’ll swing through Atlanta at 8 p.m. June 11 with a concert at Lakewood Amphitheatre. Tickets, priced at $36-$90.50, will go on sale at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 (note that the 100 level is a general admission pit with no seating). Tickets are available at, and by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Chance last played Atlanta in October with a show at the Fox Theatre.

At Sunday’s Grammys, he earned awards for best new artist, best rap album and best rap performance (“No Problem”), which also landed a first-time Grammy for Atlanta’s 2 Chainz, who is featured on the song.

He added some gospel flair to the telecast with a performance of “How Great” and “All We Got,” with an assist from Kirk Franklin and Tamela Mann.
