Bon Jovi is wrangling local talent to open its show at Philips Arena later this month, a practice the band has supported its past three tours.
For the April 20 Atlanta concert, The Howling Tongues have been tapped to take the stage before the New Jersey megastars. The Atlanta rock quintet, founded in 2011, won a contest sponsored by Rock 100.5 to earn the opening honors.
Bon Jovi, which will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14, recently launched the 2018 leg of its "This House is Not for Sale" tour. The band played Philips Arena in February 2017 on the first spate of dates supporting its album of the same name (Nashville band Maradeen opened).
Tickets starting at $29 are still available for the Philips Arena show.
The Howling Tongues will play the Rhythm and Brews Festival in Sandy Springs on April 7 before prepping for their arena spotlight.
The band’s current album is “Boo Hiss.” Check out “Raw Power in a Red Dress” below.
