FRIDAY

Paul Simon

Shortly after his inspirational performance at the Fox Theatre in May , the musical poet told The New York Times that he might soon retire from touring. That's a hint in case you haven't seen him live before. Simon is supporting his most recent album, "Stranger to Stranger," which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart upon its release last year, marking his biggest chart success since 1986's classic, "Graceland."

8 p.m. June 2. $89.50-$125. Chastain Park Amphitheatre, 4469 Stella Drive N.W., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com.

Train

One thing guaranteed at a Train concert - a lot of singalongs. The San Francisco pop-rockers launched their "Play That Song" tour last month in Las Vegas, and continue to serve up a set list of their inoffensive radio hits ("Hey, Soul Sister," "Drive By," "Meet Virginia"). A show earlier this week in Jacksonville contained a timely cover of The Allman Brothers Band's "Midnight Rider." Given Train singer Pat Monahan's impressive rock vocal chops, it would be a surprise if the band didn't pay tribute to Gregg Allman in his adopted home state.

With O.A.R. and Natasha Bedingfield. $25-$79.50. 7 p.m. June 2. Lakewood Amphitheatre, 2002 Lakewood Way, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com.

TUESDAY

Muse

The British trio of Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme hasn't released an album since 2015's "Drones," which earned their first No. 1 in the U.S. and a Grammy Award for best rock album. But a lack of new material won't prevent them from presenting a typically mesmerizing show .

With Thirty Seconds to Mars and PVRIS. 7 p.m. June 6. $30-$99.50. Lakewood Amphitheatre, 2002 Lakewood Way, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com.

Ann Wilson

The Heart belter had planned this second leg of a solo tour before a family issue with sister Nancy put that mega-platinum band on hiatus. But while fans will hear plenty of Heart material during her two-set live show ("Barracuda," "What About Love?" and "Alone" are staples), this is also an opportunity for Wilson to showcase her personal leanings (think The Who and The Black Crowes). Her band includes Heart mainstays Craig Bartock (guitar) and Denny Fongheiser (drums) as well as Andy Stoller (bass) from the Ann Wilson Thing project, plusand Dan Walker on keyboards.

7:30 p.m. June 6. $55-$75. Buckhead Theatre, 3110 Roswell Road, Atlanta, 1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com.

THURSDAY

The Avett Brothers

The North Carolina quartet is such a huge draw, they’ll park at the Fox Theatre for a trio of shows this summer. The indie-folk-rockers released their ninth studio album, “True Sadness,” last year, and in a recent interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Seth Avett confirmed that the band will shake up the set list each night. Consider this a request for their version of George Harrison’s “Give Me Love (Give Me Peach on Earth).”

8 p.m. June 8-10. $39.50-$59.50. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. N.E., Atlanta. 1-855-285-8499, www.foxtheatre.org.
