"The live show allows me to be the sensitive singer that I like to be. I can drop the notion that I have to have upbeat numbers." So said the legendary Garfunkel in a lengthy interview with Salon.com a few months ago. His show is titled "In Close-Up," so expect an intimate evening of stories and songs.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
It's not easy living up to the days of "Thrift Shop," as the Seattle-based duo is finding out. They reappeared in a grandiose manner at the MTV Video Music Awards in August to perform the then-new song "Downtown," and released a second single, "Kevin," from their upcoming album, "This Unruly Mess I've Made," out Feb. 26. But the recent arrival of the provocative "White Privilege II," featuring poet and singer Jamila Woods, has bumped the duo back into the news cycle.

Johnny Mathis
Very few artists can claim a 60-year career, but since Mathis is one to breathe that rarefied air, he’s on the road to celebrate. Best known for sublime pop songs “Chances Are,” “It’s Not for Me to Say” and “Misty,” Mathis has recorded more than 80 (!) albums. This victory lap will find him drawing from that extensive catalog for an evening of hits and some of his personal favorites.

For more than two decades, the jam band has cruised the festival circuit, sold out multiple nights in venues across the nation, and released almost as many live albums as studio efforts. None of it has garnered much mainstream attention, but the quintet continues to prove the long-term effects of grassroots marketing and boasts an intensely loyal fan base.

Carrie Underwood
She belts, she hosts, she parents — and she looks flawless while doing all of it. Considering this is the final season of “American Idol,” it seems like a good time to thank the “Idol” gods for bestowing us with one of the most enjoyable country songstresses in years — who might still be an unknown in Oklahoma if not for Simon Cowell and Co. With Easton Corbin and the Swon Brothers.

Alessia Cara
When 19-year-old Cara performed at Music Midtown last fall, she impressed mightily with a voice reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and a spunky personality. The YouTube discovery hit the Top 10 last year with "Here," from her debut EP, "Four Pink Walls" (it's also on her full-length debut, "Know-It-All"), and is currently on a mostly sold-out two-month tour.
