Thanks to the Georgia Department of Transportation's decision to suspend construction-related lane closures over spring break, this week's list of spots to avoid is mercifully short - except, of course, for that gigantic lane closure on I-85 in Atlanta.

As The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported this week, all lanes in both directions of I-85 at Piedmont Road are expected to be closed until June 15.

Here’s the other road work you need to know about this weekend as you plan your travel:

Cobb County: Alternating lanes will close on Windy Hill Road over I-75 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Fulton County: Alternating lanes will close in each direction on Ga. 400 from Hammond Drive to the Glenridge Connector from 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Union City: All lanes will close along a parade route in Union City from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The route runs along parts of Union Street, Watson Street, Roosevelt Highway, Dixie Road and Lakeside Drive.
