Some Braves fans are booing a recent decision by MARTA to move the Braves shuttle from Underground Atlanta near Five Points Station to the West End Station two stops to the south.

Lacking direct access to the stadium from a train station is ridiculous enough. But now most transit travelers will have to change trains before they board a bus to reach the stadium.

That's not exactly convenient.

Nor was the Underground Atlanta pickup location ideal for game-goers. You had to get off at Five Points and be funneled through the aging retail jungle before you could board a bus.

MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris said the station switch was initiated because Underground Atlanta will soon be undergoing renovations under its new ownership. Officials made the change now to give riders more time to adjust.

No word yet on whether the pickup and drop-off point will stay the same for the 2016.

But as travel inconvenience goes, this could be just a warm-up.

Come 2017, the future Home of the Braves in Cobb County is 10 miles away from the MARTA station at Arts Center. Plans on how to get people to and from there are still being ironed out.
