Election Day is tomorrow. Need a drink? Need a laugh?

Johnny Martinez and Brandon Ley can help with both.

The business partners have just opened Georgia Beer Garden at 420 Edgewood Ave SE. It took more than a year to launch the concept, thanks to their historic facility and a lengthy permitting process. Once they were finally ready to open, they celebrated with a most memorable launch video.

"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight (something something something) incorporated..."

Sound familiar?

"From the very beginning we kept joking that we wanted to recreate the opening of 'Laverne & Shirley,'" Ley said. "'Laverne & Shirley' is a good illustration of how we interact."

Atlhough the guys aren't filmmakers and didn't actually have their own bottling plant, there wasn't anything they wouldn't try, they never heard the word impossible and there was no stopping them. A buddy with film experience lent his skills and SweetWater Brewing Company let them film on the premises.

"We filmed it over two afternoons," Martinez said. "Twoslightly drunken afternoons."

Here it is:

The business is in soft-launch mode now while the kitchen is being finalized. Email pint@georgiabeergarden.com or search for the business on Facebook for updates on when it'll be fully up and running.

And to be clear, the enterprise has nothing officially to do with the 1970s-80s sitcom starring Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams. But the ladies can stop by any time for a brew on the house. Noted Martinez with a laugh: "We're still waiting for Penny Marshall to call."

Never heard the word impossible.
