ORLANDO - Westboro Baptist Church, whose members are known for protesting high-profile funerals claiming that God's wrath brought about the deaths, announced its plans to head here after the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. But Orlando law enforcement officials say the Westboro protesters are not coming after all.

"Law enforcement has been in contact with Westboro Baptist Church; they have no plans to come to (Central Florida) at this time," the Orlando Police Department posted on its official Twitter account. The update also was broadcast by the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Counter-protestors can stand down, according to the Orlando PD: "Rumors of Westboro Baptist Church coming to Orlando to protest at funerals are FALSE."
