The video isn't just fun - it represents two great philanthropic efforts the Marietta school recently participated in. During the month of October, Walker's Lower School launched a "Socktober" drive, collecting warm socks to be donated to an area homeless shelter.
At the end of the successful sock drive, the school then played a fun and meaningful guessing game. For $1 per guess, students could give their best estimate of how many pairs of socks were collected. Those proceeds were donated to Marines and Mickey, which sends U.S. Marine Corps members and their families on Disney vacations.
The student who came closest got to pick a stunt for Lower School Principal Megan Nellen, counselor Kristin Moffett and Assistant Principal Patricia Dougherty to perform. The winner, a student named Catherine, decided they should whip .. and nae nae!
