PDK popular with celebrities, event planners

DeKalb-Peachtree Airport is popular not only with the aviation crowd, but also Atlanta's growing film community, event planners and visiting celebrities.

Stars like Miley Cyrus like flying in and out of PDK when they're headed here for performances. Miley jetted in and out of PDK on private wings for a "Jingle Ball" show in December 2013.

The Melissa McCarthy comedy "Michelle Darnell," which has been filming in Atlanta for several weeks, is among the projects to film there. She and Peter Dinklage were among the stars working on a recent scene there.

And the hangar space has served as the perfect location for functions such as the Bodies as a Work of Art exhibition, an annual event that benefits The Chelko Foundation.
