In October, fans lined up around the block to experience New York's first Chick-fil-A. About three months later, following a Christmas Eve health inspection that "uncovered a host of critical violations, resulting in 59 violation points," the metro-Atlanta based chain closed to store for maintenance, Gothamist reports. The towering location reopens for breakfast on Monday.

A sign on the door said the W. 37th Street Chick-Fil-A would close for a few days "to ensure we continue to provide our guests with the best possible service and experience." After "restaurant maintenance and facility updates" the branch opens at 6:30 a.m. Monday.

The location has been a huge hit. As AJC Unofficial Business columnist Matt Kempner reported, "The three-story operation in Manhattan's Garment District easily broke Chick-fil-A records for peak-hour traffic," and  customer feedback on speed of service have been better than expected.

The new location was projected to have 200 employees, vs. about 75 at a typical store, the AJC reported at the time of the opening, and speed of service was a top priority.
"There’s a reason they say, ‘In a New York minute,’” said David Farmer, the company’s vice president of product strategy and development.

The company's official Twitter feed hasn't addressed the New York store - or anything else - today. As everyone knows, the chain is closed on Sundays.
