More than 600 people attended the Junior League of Atlanta's recent philanthropy summit, where civic leaders discussed tackling tough subjects such as human trafficking and generational poverty.

Alicia Phillip, president of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, moderated the discussion. Panelists included Lovette Russell, senior consultant at Coxe Curry & Associates; Alex Trouteaud, executive director at youthSpark; and Lucy Vance, a board member of the Family First Foundation and a past Junior League of Atlanta president.

"We are a movement of women directly impacting the community through direct hours of service, small strategic grants and civic leadership training while moving boldly into advocacy," said Sarah Batts, 2015-2016 president of the Junior League of Atlanta.

The evening included the presentation of a $15,000 grant to Metropolitan Counseling Services to provide affordable and specialized outpatient counseling services.
