Are you excited at the news that ABC is planning a "Dirty Dancing? remake?

ABC will reimagine the 1980s hit starring Patrick Swazye and Jennifer Grey as a three-hour musical starring Abigail Breslin as Baby (we're guessing no one puts in a corner this go-round, either), EW reports.

Remember how you never felt this way before? You apparently will again.

Grey was in Atlanta in 2012 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved coming-of-age classic.

"The movie was made with so much heart, " Grey, also a past "Dancing With the Stars" winner who's worked on numerous film and television projects over the years, told us that day. "It's about a young girl discovering herself."

As audiences prepare to rediscover "Dirty Dancing" it's worth a look at other remakes.

Atlanta has seen a fair share of remake action, with all the filming coming our way these days. "Endless Love," which traded Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt for Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde. made Rotten Tomatoes' list of worst movies of 2014.

The "Vacation" reboot - not quite a remake, it starred Ed Helms as a grown-up Rusty Griswold who takes the fam back out on the road - didn't fare so hot either. It's on this year's list of Rotten Tomatoes' worst.

The "Footloose" remake with Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough, Dennis Quaid, Andie MacDowell and Miles Teller (who would go on to star in the locally shot "Divergent" franchise films), fared a little better but RT found one aspect sort of weird: "For such an iconic dance movie, ' Footloose' is an odd bird of a movie with surprisingly little dancing."

The Farrelly Brothers' "Three Stooges" movie wasn't exactly a remake and it wasn't terrible. Their sequel "Dumb and Dumber To" was just .. eh.

On the brighter side, Kenny Leon's modern take on "Steel Magnolias," remade for Lifetime, was much acclaimed.

What's your take on the "Dirty Dancing" remake?

Executive producers include Allison Shearmur (The Hunger Games) and Eleanor Bergstein, who also wrote the screenplay for the original movie. Jessica Sharzer (The L Word) will write the adaptation and Wayne Blair (The Sapphires) will direct. The music will be done by Adam Anders and Peer Astrom (Glee) with Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) as choreographer.
