Delta Air Lines is expected to announce an order of around 100 Airbus planes, after a competition between Boeing and Airbus for the Delta order.
The airline is expected to announce an order of Airbus A321neo jets, CNN reported, citing people familiar with the deal.
Delta declined to comment "on industry rumor and speculation." The airline is already a big Airbus customer, having ordered 122 narrow-body A321 jets in a series of orders, as well as wide-body Airbus A330s and A350s.
Boeing and Delta are on opposite sides of a high-profile trade dispute, after Boeing alleged that Canadian rival Bombardier was getting illegal subsidies and dumping its planes into the U.S. market by selling planes to Delta at a low price.
