Atlanta Business Chronicle said Monday that David Rubinger, a marketing and communications executive and former journalist at the newspaper, will take over as publisher and market president of the publication.
Rubinger will succeed Ed Baker, the Chronicle’s long-time publisher, who announced earlier this year he would leave to become an executive-in-residence at the Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University.
Rubinger is a former reporter, managing editor and editor of the Chronicle. He is also a former communications executive with Equifax and public relations company Ketchum. He most recently ran his communications and marketing firm Rubinger Inc.
The appointment is official as of day, the Chronicle said, and Rubinger and Baker will work in the coming weeks as part of a planned management transition.
“Atlanta Business Chronicle was my home for the first 10 years of my career in Atlanta,” Rubinger said in a story on the Chronicle’s website. “It’s great to be back and building on the legacy that Ed Baker and the Chronicle team have built.”
