If you are looking for healthcare gigs, Atlanta is now one of the top spots in the country to search.
When it comes to healthcare job openings, Atlanta ranks four behind only New York, Los Angeles and Boston, according to a report by Simply Hired, which operates job search engines online.
"Healthcare is a dominant force for job creation," said James Beriker, president and CEO of Simply Hired.
More than any sector – even technology – healthcare has been driving hiring gains, he said. "Our data shows that healthcare represents 14.2 percent of all available jobs on Simply Hired."
In contrast, tech accounts for 9.3 percent of listings.
As for jobs, the top five jobs available in Atlanta's healthcare sector are: registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical and health services managers, personal care aides and nursing assistants. Nursing account for seven of 10 jobs listed in healthcare, according to Simply Hired.
The metro Atlanta employers doing the most hiring – or at least, listing the most job openings – are WellStar Health System, Northside Hospital, Piedmont Healthcare, Gwinnett Medical Center and Emory Healthcare, according to Simply Hired.
