Things to Do

Free Chipotle with Sofritas purchase today

Jan 26, 2015

Today, visit any Chipotle Mexican Grill and buy a Sofritas entrée, and you can redeem your receipt for a free entrée of your choice any day between Jan. 27 and feb. 28.

Sofritas was inspired by the Spanish word sofrito — a cooking base used for stews, rice and beans in Spanish and Latin American culture. It is organic, non-GMO tofu braised with chipotle chilis, roasted poblano peppers and a mix of spices.

The entree, which was tested in 2013, was designed to create a vegetarian option for Chipotle fans, but it has also appealed to non-vegetarian customers. The restaurant hopes the promotion today will expose even more customers to the dish.

To participate, order a Sofritas entrée item – burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos – on Monday, Jan. 26, and you will get a bounce-back for a free entrée item during a return visit between Jan. 27 and Feb. 28.

Remember to keep your receipt, as you must show the original receipt upon redemption to validate the offer. For more information, visit Chipotle.com/sofritasmonday.
