Time Warner no longer has a financial stake in the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center in downtown Atlanta.

The Dallas-based hotel company said Thursday it has bought out the media giant’s 50 percent interest in the lodger, which is next door to CNN’s Atlanta headquarters.

Omni struck a deal in 2000 with Turner Broadcasting, a division of Time Warner, to acquire the south tower of the hotel and build a 600-room north tower. The new tower opened in 2003.

“Omni Hotels & Resorts’ complete acquisition of the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center demonstrates our commitment to owning hotels which allows us to manage in an environment where all interests are aligned and focused on delivering a superior guest experience,” Jim Caldwell, CEO of Omni Hotels & Resorts, said in a release.

The hotel also announced the appointment of Manuel Deisen as general manager. Deisen was formerly general manager of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in downtown Atlanta.
