Chihuly Collection, St. Petersburg

Thanks to a new home in the 700 block of Central Avenue, it's more convenient than ever to visit the Chihuly Collection in St. Petersburg, the only space in the world dedicated to the works of internationally acclaimed glass artist Dale Chihuly. (The Atlanta Botanical Garden hosted a popular Chihuly exhibit last year.) The former location at 400 Beach Drive was blocks away from the Morean Arts Center that owns the collection and a glass-blowing demonstration included in the ticket price. The new unified campus means art enthusiasts can give their full attention to Chihuly's signature works, such as "Float Boat" and "Mille Fiori," instead of worrying about a parking ticket.

Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, Key West

Take a guided tour of the yellow-shuttered, two-story home owned by literary legend Ernest Hemingway during the 1930s. Papa’s typewriter and a collection of antique Spanish furniture are intriguing, but for many, the real attraction is the herd of six-toed cats that call the National Historic Landmark home. The felines are said to be descendants of Hemingway’s adored pet, Snow White.

Artists Alley, Delray Beach

This innovative community of about 20 artists has transformed a block of empty warehouses into art galleries and studios. They invite the public to watch them throw clay pots, add the last brushstroke to a canvas or assemble a one-of-a-kind installation of found objects.

Warehouses are at 350-358 N.E. Fourth St., Delray Beach, Fla. Galleries and studios are open 6-9 p.m. the first Friday and third Thursday of every month and noon-5 p.m. Saturdays. artistsalleydelray.com.
