Check out Midtown’s Center for Puppetry Arts this holiday season for a special exhibit showcasing the history of everybody’s favorite red-nosed reindeer, Rudolph.
From Nov. 11 to Jan. 2, Rudolph and friends will come alive on stage with in-person performances of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, as part of the Center’s “Christmas Town”. In addition to the live performance, the center will display rare Rudolph and Santa puppets from the original 1964 film production in a special exhibit. Guests will also have an opportunity to learn about the history behind the iconic poem-turned-song.
There are two ways to experience “Christmas Town”: an all-inclusive ticket that includes admission to the live Rudolph show, museum entry, and the Create-A-Puppet Workshop; or a museum-only ticket.
A special Sensory Friendly Sunday iteration of “Christmas Town” will take place on Nov. 14 for guests with sensory sensitivities (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder) and guests with unique learning needs.
The Center is open year-round as a museum destination hosting the world’s largest collection of Jim Henson puppets, props and costumes. In addition, the Center also hosts regular puppet shows, workshops and educational programs.
