Buckhead’s St. Regis Atlanta has transformed its lobby into The Astor Chalet for the holiday season, “a festive winter wonderland that captures the spirit of the holiday season.” The iconic hotel took to social media to announce the news.

“Discover a cozy Swiss-inspired chalet designed by celebrated Summerour and Associates Architects made of hand-crafted reclaimed hardwoods sourced by Appalachian Antique Hardwoods,” the announcement said. “Step inside to shop a dreamy holiday pop-up from Buckhead’s own Lucy’s Market, stocked with all the best finds for entertaining and gift giving, accented with festive lighting from The Outdoor Lights. The hotel’s signature 24-foot Christmas tree, exquisitely decorated by acclaimed Susan B. Bozeman Designs, Inc. brings even more holiday sparkle to the #BestAddress in Atlanta.”

Summerour Architects is an Atlanta-based firm that was founded in 1991. The business has since expanded to North Carolina and Italy.

“Mother Nature and Father Time have crafted a masterpiece in every board that we provide to our clients,” the website said. “The one-hundred to five-hundred year old wood that is used is more stable and more durable than wood that has recently been harvested. Each piece is completely guaranteed to match our strict quality specifications.”

The Astor Chalet is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday, the chalet is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
