Move over New York; Denver is aiming to impress this Christmas.

The city introduced its latest display of lighting genius — an LED Christmas tree standing measuring 110 feet. It’s seven stories tall with a 39-foot diameter. And it’s 10 feet higher than the tallest Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.

The Mile High City is already one of the most visited cities in the US with more than 31 million visitors a year generating $6 billion in tourism revenue. Now, that number might go up - especially during the holidays.

“The Mile High Tree is the tallest art installation in the history of our city as well as a perfect community centerpiece for bringing people of all cultures together for seasonal celebrations,” said Richard W. Scharf, president and CEO of Visit Denver, in a release.

Located next to the city’s Christkindlmarket, the tree’s 60,000 LED lights dance to holiday music, offering free nightly shows to visitors.

“This has become an iconic attraction on the Denver skyline each holiday season, not to mention a new holiday tradition,” said Scharf.

Denver has plenty to do during the holidays season. From booking cabins to planning the perfect ski trip, it’s a top destination for those who want a snowy holiday. If you want to stay in town, the Camp Christmas and Union Station will help bring in the holiday spirit with festive music, drinks, food, light shows and more.

The Mile High Tree is currently open 5-10 p.m. every evening through Dec. 31. Entry to the Mile High Tree is free to the public. Additional details can be found at MileHighHolidays.com
