Enjoy nature this holiday season with your family at Enchanted Woodland Wonders, the most popular of Chattahoochee Nature Center’s Family Fun Days. The event will be held from noon-4 p.m. Sunday, and you’re invited to dress up in your best gnome or fairy costume to add to the fun atmosphere.

Take the Enchanted Woodland Trail to discover magical fairy houses and gnome homes created using found and unusual objects. With different volunteers using their imaginations to design and create the structures, the possibilities are endless. Although many are small, some in past years, including a huge fairy ship inspired by the Mayflower, have broken the trend, so you never know what you’ll find along the way. This event marks the enchanted trail’s opening.

While you’re at the Enchanted Woodland Wonders, you can toast marshmallows and make s’mores to eat by the campfire, enjoy crafts, lawn games and music and visit booths by partners such as the National Park Service. In a new feature this year, guests of all ages can embark on a winter scavenger hunt in Fairy Court while helping the Holly King and Oak King turn the seasons. In addition to being a fun activity, the scavenger hunt will teach guests about the importance of winter.

Enchanted Woodland Wonders is an event designed for nonmembers as well as Chattahoochee Nature Center members, and if you have a membership, you can start the day with a Whimsical Woodland Tea Party from 10:30 a.m.-noon. In addition to the party, you’ll enjoy a trail hike, light bites, special drinks, a fun craft and will be able to stay for Enchanted Woodland Wonders.

CNC is located at 9135 Willeo Road in Roswell, and access to Enchanted Woodland Wonders is included in the general admission price of $20 for adults, $16 for seniors ages 65 and older and students 13-18, $14 for kids 3-12 and free for ages 2 and under and members. Register online to reserve a time and to check-in more quickly, but walk-ups are also accommodated. The members-only tea party costs $5 per person.
