Georgia U.S. House incumbents coast to re-election

The Associated Press has called races in favor of most members of Georgia’s delegation to the U.S. House who were seeking re-election. All those listed below are in seats considered safe for members of their party.

U.S. Rep. Rick Allen, a Republican who lives in Augusta, won over Democrat Elizabeth Johnson.

U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk, a Cassville Republican, bested Democrat Antonio Daza.

U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, a Republican from Pooler, defeated Democrat Wade Herring.

U.S. Rep. Nikema Williams, a Democrat who lives in Atlanta, bested Republican Christian Zimm.

U.S. Rep. Drew Ferguson, a Republican who lives in West Point, won over Democrat Van Almonord.

U.S. Rep. David Scott, also an Atlanta Democrat, won his race against Republican Caesar Gonzales.

U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde, an Athens Republican, defeated Democrat Michael Ford.

U.S. Rep. Austin Scott, a Republican from Tifton, won over Democrat Darrius Butler.

U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, a Lithonia Democrat, defeated Republican Jonathan Chavez.
