U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock’s election night party has remained upbeat even as the race remains undecided and the Democrat, for now, is slightly behind Republican Herschel Walker and headed toward a runoff.

The positive vibes for the night have been partially attributed to Carl Burroughs a.k.a. DJ C Blendz. He has played a mix of line dances, current and classic hip hop, R&B and even some Latin songs in hopes of catering to the diverse crowd.

“I want to provide different types of music because Raphael Warnock represents everybody in Georgia, not just African Americans or Caucasians,” Burroughs said.

The 33-year-old from Lithonia started DJing when he was just 8 years old, following in his father’s footsteps. He currently is one of the hosts on Atlanta’s 105.3 The Beat station, which is what led him to first get a gig playing music for Warnock during the SpelHouse Homecoming events last month. After doing well there, he was invited to bring the tunes on election night.

Burroughs was humble about the praise he has received for keeping the crowd jamming.

“It’s not about me,” he said. “It’s about Raphael Warnock. I’m just happy to be here and provide the music for him.”
