DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond said Warnock will win tonight and send a message of “yes to dignity, yes to honesty, yes to truth and hell no to Herschel Walker.”
Thurmond thanked the supporters in the crowd and told them to stay optimistic as votes are tabulated.
“You will see tonight when the voters are in, Senator Raphael Warnock will re-elected as the junior senator from this state,” he said. “So don’t grow weary, don’t get tired, keep on Electric Slide-ing.”
Melody Maddox started off her remarks with another dig at Walker, who has been criticized for falsely stating an honorary police badge gives him law enforcement powers.
“I’m DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox, and I wear a real badge,” she said as the crowd cheered.
“This race is about a man who wears a badge of honor, a badge of integrity, a badge of dignity, but most of all a badge to the honor to the man he serves upstairs,” she continued.
