Tyler Perry loses $100k bid for Nipsey Hussle portrait at art gala

Last year, Tyler Perry participated in a bidding war with Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy. While he won, he wasn’t so lucky this year.

During the annual Wearable Art Gala, hosted by Tina Knowles Lawson and her husband Richard Lawson, the filmmaker partook in an art bid. When a dazzling portrait of the late Nipsey Hussle was presented, Perry, who received the Trailblazer Award at the event, wanted to claim it.

But he wasn’t the only one. Another honoree, Felicia Horowitz, also wanted to take home the masterpiece, which was created by artist Tiffanie Anderson.

The price began at $50,000 and went all the way up to $100,000 with Horowitz winning the grand prize.
