Currently there are no casinos (excluding casino boats) in Georgia or South Carolina but here's a map of where you can gamble in the surrounding southern states of North Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Texas and Louisiana.

Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson has infuriated some Georgia Republicans with a mission to pave the way for a possible casino expansion. That mission, one person with close ties to Adelson said, could include an investment in the Peach State of at least $2 billion.

State lawmakers will soon debate whether to legalize casino gambling, which supporters say would funnel tens of millions of additional dollars to the HOPE scholarship and other lottery-funded education programs.
