A state panel that is drawing up a bill to govern regional mass transit will meet on Dec. 9 to hear public comment.

Gov. Nathan Deal convened the group, the Transit Governance Task Force, to suggest legislation to coordinate the Atlanta region’s patchwork of mass transit agencies.

The meeting is slated for 1 p.m. in room 606 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building. There will be a sign-in sheet, said House Transportation Committee Vice Chairwoman Donna Sheldon.  The panel is co-chaired by Sheldon and Senate Transportation Committee Chairman Jeff Mullis.
