The Georgia General Assembly at a glance for Friday, Day 32 of the 2018 legislative session:

Last chance to run: Anyone who wants to run for governor, the Georgia General Assembly, Congress and other elected offices this year have until noon Friday to file their qualifying papers. That's the deadline for candidate qualifying. Then comes the primary election May 22, runoffs July 24 and the general election Nov. 6.

Big budget: The House is expected to vote on the state's $26 billion annual budget Friday. The budget includes $8 million for school security, with the possibility that the Senate could double that amount when it reviews the state's spending plan. The budget must be approved before the end of this year's legislative session March 29.

On the record: "Happy International Women's Day to all of you women," said Rep. Dar'shun Kendrick, D-Lithonia, as she prepared to question Sen. Josh McKoon, R-Columbus, about a bill that would increase the burden of proof for teenage girls seeking a court waiver to get an abortion without notifying her parents. "Let's talk about other people's ovaries now."
