The General Assembly welcomed serving members of the Georgia National Guard to the Capitol on Wednesday and honored the 45 Georgians who died in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Members of the families of those killed sat in the public gallery and were applauded as legislators welcomed them in the state House. The names of the 45 were read, and legislators and the public stood in silence to honor them.
