Liberals, media whitewash Obama administration’s failures

President Barack Obama had nothing to do with the growth in the economy that we are seeing with President Donald Trump in office.

The economy barely squeaked by in Obama’s eight years, but it survived because our capitalistic system can’t be destroyed by collectivist socialist ideas.

Obama tried his best to destroy the greatest form of wealth creation ever devised with liberal sophomoric ideas right out of the Keynesian socialist handbook, and it failed as it usually does.

Obama was a president for crony capitalists, elitists, and those who benefit most from Democrat control of our nation’s pocket book.

Those ignoring what Trump has accomplished are showing the American people their true colors and that control and power is their main concern, not the American people. In fact, it shows we are on the bottom of their priorities list.

Thank you mainstream media elites for showing us who you really are.

Keeping church, state separate is sound strategy

I heartily agree with another letter writer who believes that not practicing separation of church and state (“Current pols’ mixing of church and state unseemly,” Opinion, May 20) has led to our nation’s divisiveness, among many other problems including, I think, almost daily shootings. False information and fear propaganda have been allowed to circulate through religious venues and basically brainwash far too many Americans. As a result, we have a government of “might makes right,” with “might” being big money used to influence government to benefit the already obscenely wealthy at the expense of the rest of us. The alternative to “Might makes right” is “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and because we have not done that, we have a divided country that has lost real democracy.
