Dems’ socialism will lead to economic decline

A rough count of the women in Congress reveals there are 106 Democratic women and 21 Republican women. In the Georgia State Senate, there are 13 Democratic and two Republican women, one of which has all the liberal characteristics of a Democrat. The number of Democratic women in government increased in the last election. Democrats, with motherly instincts, want government help for everyone – that is, socialism. Republicans want more independence free of costly government personal programs. History has shown socialism degrades a country where the governed are not all the same in work ethics, industriousness and economic savvy. In l887, a Scottish history professor said in so many words that a democracy will thrive until society discovers they can vote themselves benefits from the public treasury. That always starts economic decline. That is what Democrats are doing to our country today.

GOP should examine morality of Trump support

A letter-writer in Sunday’s AJC said Democrats believe all Republicans are racist (“Liberal appeals to race don’t support morality,” Readers Write, Jan. 27). The writer is correct. Not all Republicans are racist. I would estimate that number to be 75 to 80 percent, the percentage of Republicans who support Donald Trump. I would urge all Trump supporters who claim not to be racist to take a good, hard look in the mirror and ask yourself, Does supporting a racist make you a racist? I think it does. The writer also questioned the morality of Democrats. To Trump supporters, I would ask, Does supporting a liar make you a liar? Not necessarily. However, it does mean you support a man with no morals whatsoever. I hate to think of the moral values (or complete lack of) you’re passing on to your children.
