She’s just hours old, and she’s already been awarded a junior deputy badge by the Clayton County sheriff.
That’s because little Arbree Lemons couldn’t wait to born at a hospital. Instead, all 6 pounds and 15 ounces of her was born in the parking lot of the county’s justice center.
While Arbree’s mother did most of the work, her father did his part by flagging down a deputy, Sheriff Victor Hill said. Sgt. Christopher Storey guided the Lemons to the front parking lot and called for an ambulance, Hill said.
But by then, Arbree was already on her way into the world. She was born in the parking lot before then being taken to a hospital with her parents. Storey also followed the family.
“Has a crime fighter been born?” Hill said he asked.
Hill also went to the hospital to meet and congratulate the family. The sheriff presented the newborn with a junior deputy badge.
But based on the picture, Arbree was asleep and missed the honor.
