4 ways to have a weekend of family fun in Gwinnett l July 15-17

There’s no excuse for staying home this weekend, Gwinnett.

With Gwinnett's finest foods and night's filled with family fun, there will be plenty to fill the weekend agenda.

Superhero family nightTake the family for a swim this weekend. The Collins Hill Park Aquatic Center will host a superhero-themed night of swimming and activities. Pre-registration is not required. All pool rules and admission fees apply (twilight rates don't apply).

The event will take place 7 p.m. Friday, July 15  at 2200 Collins Hill Road, Lawrenceville.

Lawrenceville Arts FestivalSupport your local artists this weekend and head over to the Lawrenceville Arts Festival. The festival will feature art pieces by local artists, smooth jazz music played throughout the day and fine art performances. If chalk art is your thing you can participate in the chalk art competition (open to all ages) and get the chance to win in several categories.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 16. The chalk art competition will begin at 8 a.m. The festival will be held on the Lawrenceville lawn, 210 Luckie St.

Movies under the stars summer concert seriesHead over to the Georgia Mall for a free concert and movie. There will be a live band performance, bounce houses, food and drink vendors and special retail activations. Feel free to take lawn chairs or blankets. The event will take place every Saturday until July 30.

At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16, the Fly Betty Band will be performing live and "The Fifth Wave" (rated PG-13) will be screened. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free of cost. The movie will begin at dusk. Location is at the Village Amphitheater at the Mall of Georgia, 3333 Buford Drive.

Gwinnett restaurant week: Restaurant week at Gwinnett kicks off on Sunday, July 17, and will last until July 21. Take advantage of this special opportunity to enjoy the diverse cuisine in Gwinnett. There  participating restaurants will offer a three-course, pre-set, menu priced at $25.
